A seed fundraising round headed by 3one4 Capital has garnered $4 million for Facets.cloud, a self-serve platform for infrastructure management. The platform streamlines and productizes cloud deployment operations, which increases developer productivity while assisting businesses in embracing a DevOps future.
Anshul Sao, Pravanjan Choudhury, and Rohit Raveendran - all three IIT-KGP alumnis - co-founded Facets in 2021.
Ops teams would now piece together 32 different toolchain categories to handle observability, releases, environment provisioning, and other cloud delivery process features as part of modern DevOps methods. Maintaining, updating, and staying current with the always changing needs for this strategy might take an overwhelming amount of work. This may present a diversion for companies from their primary business services.
"One unforeseen issue that firms must manage is cloud product delivery,” said Facets CEO and founder Pravanjan Choudhury, "Anything that is not core to your business and taking away your Developers' time is noise and needs to be productized."
By consolidating all cloud deployment procedures into an internal developer platform, Facets would enable developers to easily handle their own infrastructure requirements. Platform Engineering is the name of this new approach to cloud delivery, and Facets is meant to assist businesses in implementing it.
Managing DevOps Configurations
Mr. Choudhury made the following statement on the funding: "Facets' enormous potential and the platform engineering philosophy we uphold are demonstrated by the $4 million infusion. We express our gratitude to 3one4 Capital and other investors for their faith."
Choudhury spent over a decade as Capillary Technologies' CTO prior to joining Facets. Prior to joining Capillary Technologies, Anshul Sao held the position of Chief Architect and was employed by Yahoo. Meanwhile, Rohit Raveendran served as Capillary's Principal Architect. Among the businesses that utilize Facets are MPL, Treebo, Capillary Technologies, and Purplle.
"Facets is revolutionary for intricate DevOps configurations. Businesses are empowered with self-service infrastructure management via the automation of last-mile cloud delivery as a product, which enhances efficiency and establishes them as leaders in the market,” said Anurag Ramdasan, the lead partner from 3one4 Capital. “Their method of platform engineering has the power to change everything. We believe in the immense potential of Facets to redefine how organizations manage their DevOps and are proud partners in their growth journey."
With the help of this funding, Facets hopes to grow its product line, extend the platform engineering concept, and penetrate the US market.
Along with well-known angel investors like Abhinav Asthana, Pallav Nadhani, Aneesh Reddy, Krishna Mehra, and Sreedhar Pedinneni, additional investors in the round included 100x Entrepreneurs (now Neon).
