Arrcus Debuts New Feature, Promising Significant Savings on Cloud Egress Costs

Egress Cost Control (ECC) is a new feature that Arrcus, a hyperscale networking software developer and supplier of core, edge, and multi-cloud routing and switching infrastructure, has added to its FlexMCN multi-cloud networking solution. According to Arrcus itself, this innovative solution may save up to 40% on egress charges by streamlining and optimizing cloud connection expenses.

Cloud users would frequently experience significant costs in their cloud bills due to hidden data egress charges in a world dominated by bandwidth-hungry applications like distributed Large Language Models (LLM) for generative AI, Database Replication, High Performance Computing (HPC), as well as hybrid work. Charges assessed by a cloud provider when a client permanently leaves the cloud are not the same as this. Gartner insights would show that since data egress costs are dispersed across several cloud services, they are often difficult to locate.

With the use of its innovative ECC technology, Arrcus FlexMCN, enterprises would get better visibility and optimization via intelligent routing, allowing them to successfully reduce egress costs.

About Egress Costs

“With Arrcus’ ECC-enabled FlexMCN, organizations can now gain granular control over cloud egress costs to achieve significant savings,” said Shekar Ayyar, Chairman and CEO at Arrcus“With Arrcus’ ECC-enabled FlexMCN, organizations can now gain granular control over cloud egress costs to achieve significant savings,” said Shekar Ayyar, Chairman and CEO at ArrcusEgress costs are an inevitable element of many cloud designs, especially those that depend on data replication for robustness. Workloads like database storage, backup, and replication that contribute significantly to egress charges may have a significant impact on cloud costs, often increasing the whole fee by 10% to 15%, according to Arrcus. As a result, IT managers need to carefully weigh the advantages and disadvantages of maintaining high availability.

With the addition of ECC technology, Arrcus’ FlexMCN would not only give businesses insight and egress cost allocation, but also dynamically and intelligently direct traffic to locations with the lowest egress costs. FlexMCN’s features are compatible with all underlay connections, whether dedicated or shared via the Internet, and with hybrid, colocation, and public cloud settings. This functionality would increase FlexMCN’s ability to provide application-level performance and cost optimization for components like high network bandwidth and low latency.

“With Arrcus’ ECC-enabled FlexMCN, organizations can now gain granular control over cloud egress costs to achieve significant savings,” said Shekar Ayyar, Chairman and CEO at Arrcus. “We are committed to innovating and addressing the challenges faced by businesses in multi-cloud environments as is evident from this smart solution.”

Headquartered in San Jose, California, with additional offices in Bangalore, India, and Tokyo, Japan, Arrcus focuses on a range of networking solutions. These include monitoring and analytics, edge routing, virtualized and distributed routing, routing security, hybrid and multi-cloud solutions, and more. The company has issued more than 215 patents, and contributed to over 290 IETF papers/submissions. These accomplishments would reflect the Arrcus’ commitment to innovation and its impact in the networking sector.
