The successful completion of a key acquisition in Vienna signifies AtlasEdge’s debut into the Austrian market. AtlasEdge is a pan-European edge data center colocation provider having a portfolio that comprises data centers across Europe’s growing markets. The Austrian data center acquisition’s financial specifics were not made public.
“Vienna is an attractive market characterized by significant demand for alternative data center operators and ready-to-sell capacity,” said Giuliano Di Vitantonio, CEO, AtlasEdge. With this data center acquisition, AtlasEdge establishes a footprint in Vienna, Austria’s main connectivity center and a vital entry point for markets in Central and Eastern Europe. Strong colocation demand drivers in the form of digital media, banking, and cloud industries have made the city and its environs home to fast expanding addressable markets, according to AtlasEdge.
The acquired property, which is now a part of the Siemens Campus in Vienna-Floridsdorf, is home to an existing data center with room to grow into a 10MW building. By Q3 2026, the location will be completely extended with the additional capacity and physically and technically isolated from the larger complex.
“We are very excited to be establishing a presence in Vienna, an attractive market characterized by significant demand for alternative data center operators and ready-to-sell capacity,” said Giuliano Di Vitantonio, CEO, AtlasEdge. “Closing this transaction is a testament to our ability to execute ambitious M&A on a pan-European scale. In addition to serving as a platform for the local market, this also acts as another catalyst for AtlasEdge’s expansion plans.”

Data Centers Across Europe
AtlasEdge was founded in 2021 and is supported by a joint investment from DigitalBridge, a global investment firm focused on digital infrastructure, and Liberty Global, a global leader in converged broadband, video, and mobile communications as well as an active investor in cutting-edge infrastructure, content, and technology ventures. AtlasEdge’s portfolio includes data centers across Europe’s growing markets, including Amsterdam, Barcelona, Berlin, Brussels, Copenhagen, Hamburg, London, Leeds, Madrid, Manchester, Milan, Paris, Vienna, and Zurich.
In February 2023, AtlasEdge successfully acquired Datacenter One in Germany. Modern colocation data centers in Stuttgart, Dusseldorf, Hamburg, and Leverkusen were part of this transaction.
“While Vienna is one of the fastest growing markets in the region, it’s also one which has been historically underserved,” said Henry Harris, Chief Development Officer, AtlasEdge. “We pride ourselves on our distinctly customer-led approach, and by developing a best-in-class facility in a prime location, we will be well placed to meet this surging demand for capacity head-on.”
