Colt Data Centre Services (DCS), a global provider of enterprise and hyperscale data center solutions, has made a significant entry into the Indian market. The inauguration of its flagship Navi Mumbai colocation data center would underline Colt DCS’s strategic expansion and commitment to the surging needs of India's digital transformation.
By 2024, projections would place India’s demand for data center capacity at 1.318GW, with Navi Mumbai accounting for half of this demand. According to Colt DCS, it's clear that as the nation transitions into a more digital-savvy era, data centers will be foundational to its technological infrastructure. Colt DCS expects to become a significant player in this evolving landscape
Colt DCS's newest addition in Navi Mumbai would stand out with its sprawling 15-acre estate that can house up to 120MW of IT power capacity. This “state-of-the-art” facility would offer the highest scalability and flexibility to clients. With an architecture designed for adaptability, it's primed to support cutting-edge applications spanning from machine learning and high-performance computing to generative AI and other intensive cloud-based operations. The facility’s strength would lie in its capability to deliver high power density solutions combined with efficient cooling mechanisms.

At the core of this scalability is a robust infrastructure. Notably, the facility features an on-site 220kV GIS substation equipped with a robust LILO setup. Security would be paramount at the center, with multi-layered defenses in place including access control, enhanced physical features, and continuous monitoring. After a comprehensive TVRA analysis, the site has earned a classification as a low-risk location, further reinforcing its appeal.
The ‘Platinum’ Rating accolade recently awarded to the project by the IGBC - Green Data Center (India Green Building Council) testifies to Colt DCS's focus on sustainability. The colocation data center is predominantly powered by green energy, aligning with Colt DCS's global environmental responsibility ethos. Such green initiatives would ensure that clients can achieve their sustainability goals.
Safety is a top-tier concern for Colt DCS. The colocation data center operates under stringent health and safety protocols. The company's adherence to these rigorous standards was recently recognized by the Safety Engineers Association (SEA) with the Safety Excellence Award.
