Data center colocation provider Cologix, in partnership with CIM Group, has unveiled their TOR4 Data Center, a 15 megawatt (MW) “state-of-the-art” facility located at the heart of Toronto’s connectivity ecosystem. This strategic move would bolster Toronto’s position as a pivotal digital junction while highlighting the city’s growing influence in the tech sector.
Cologix's newest offering in its ‘Scalelogix’ portfolio, TOR4, would be evidence of the company's dedication to enhancing the area’s digital infrastructure and offering top-notch colocation and interconnectivity services. The facility’s construction would signify a pivotal shift in the regional tech landscape, aiming to meet the surging demand from major global cloud providers and leading digital enterprises.
Chris Heinrich, Cologix’s Chief Revenue Officer, emphasized the company's drive to support significant tech growth, stating, "Our continued expansion throughout North America, fueled by demand from large-scale cloud providers, is a cornerstone of our mission. TOR4 reflects our ambition to deliver hyper-scalable data center solutions that are integral to our customers' digital edge: be it through ultra-low latency, enhanced security, rapid connectivity, or access to critical networks."
The new data center is strategically spread over a 3.4-acre complex, featuring a 50,000 square foot building designed for dynamic adaptability to the evolving needs of tech-centric organizations. Following the launch of TOR4, Cologix's network now encompasses over 700 interconnected facilities, with more than 200 networks operating within Canada. This would reinforce Cologix's position as a powerhouse in the North American data center and networking space, with TOR4 providing secure, high-performance operations powered by robust infrastructure for power and cooling.
