CoSo Cloud Achieves HIPAA Security Certification

Healthcare

CoSo Cloud, a provider of secured, private-cloud managed services, software products, and custom applications for high-consequence eLearning and training, has announced that its CoSo Secure Private Cloud Platform has been awarded the HIPAA Seal of Compliance.

This accreditation would confirm that their cloud platform adheres to all HIPAA requirements, providing confidence to organizations that utilize the CoSo Secure Private Cloud platform to safeguard sensitive data, including personally identifiable information (PII), healthcare records, and HIPAA-related data.

This announcement follows CoSo’s recent security and compliance certifications for the Department of Defense (DOD), which include DISA IL4 and the extension of its FedRAMP Moderate+ rating for federal government organizations. These achievements would demonstrate the company’s commitment to providing “secure, compliant” private environments for mission-critical regulation meetings and training endeavors for the DOD and other federal government agencies.

The Compliancy Group’s Seal of Compliance is a third-party HIPAA compliance certification standard recognized across the healthcare industry. It is used by healthcare organizations, suppliers, and IT professionals to verify that they have made every effort to comply with HIPAA regulations and have the documentation to prove it. This certification is a testament to CoSo’s dedication to maintaining the highest standards of data protection and compliance for its clients.

United States Internal Revenue Service

Jim Seaman, Chief Revenue Officer at CoSo “Since 2017, the CoSo Cloud Secure Platform has achieved six critical security and compliance certifications,” said Jim Seaman, Chief Revenue Officer at CoSo.

In addition, in collaboration with Envolve Media, CoSo has been chosen by the United States Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to provide the final piece of the puzzle for Adobe Connect. This accomplishment is part of CoSo’s ongoing sales progress as the preferred private cloud platform for federal government organizations. Over the next five years, CoSo will manage and facilitate the arrangement for 9,000 users, providing internal instruction on the latest tax regulations, laws, and enforcement policies for both IRS personnel and members of the general public.

The IRS, a department within the US Department of the Treasury, is considered one of the most efficient tax administrators in the world. In the fiscal year 2020, the IRS brought in nearly $3.5 trillion in revenue and processed over 240 million individual tax filings. As part of The Taxpayer First Act of 2019, the IRS aims to strengthen its vulnerability precautions, information technology systems, and relationships with taxpayers and the tax community. This transformation strategy includes the initiative as one of its components.

Jim Seaman, Chief Revenue Officer at CoSo, highlighted the importance of cloud security authorizations for the success of eLearning projects. “Since 2017, the CoSo Cloud Secure Platform has achieved six critical security and compliance certifications,” he said. “Now, our customers in the healthcare industry and other highly regulated industries can securely conduct effective virtual training and webinars with the confidence of HIPAA compliance protection.”

CoSo’s success with the IRS would demonstrate the growing adoption of its FedRAMP technology by federal government agencies. Another recent example is the partnership between CoSo, Adobe, and the Department of Housing and Urban Development of the United States (HUD). In collaboration with ICF, HUD’s systems contractor, CoSo would enhance training and education opportunities for HUD employees and stakeholders using Adobe Learning Manager learning management system, which will be integrated into HUD Exchange. This online platform provides program information, training, guidance, services, and tools for HUD’s community partners, including state and local governments, nonprofit organizations, Continuums of Care (CoCs), Public Housing Authorities (PHAs), tribes, and partners of these organizations.
