cPanel Releases New Feature Called Manage Team

cPanel, one of the most popular platforms for hosting administration, has now added a new feature called Manage Team. This feature allows account owners to establish sub-accounts and delegate access to certain features and services. This “much-anticipated” new feature, which has been extensively desired by its user community, is now available to all cPanel customers at no additional cost.

Because more and more small companies are establishing online presences, there has been a growing need for a trustworthy method of delegating administrative responsibilities inside cPanel.

The new feature, Manage Team, provides a solution to this issue by enabling license owners to set up sub-accounts that provide users access to certain capabilities without requiring them to share their credentials with other users. These services include website creation, database management, email administration, and many more. This would not only reduce the expenses of providing assistance but also increase the level of security. Additionally, searchable audit logs keep track of the activities carried out by each sub-user, and the accounts in question may even be made to automatically expire on a certain date.

“Team Manager has been our most requested feature,” said Jesse Asklund, Chief Experience Officer at cPanel. “With this feature, we’re enabling seamless collaboration and administrative task delegation, allowing site owners to give access to associates, developers, and anyone else needing access to a cPanel account without sharing the primary account credentials.”

Shared Web Hosting

Shared web hosting providers may now take advantage of new sales opportunities.

They may now promote and sell delegated accounts as part of their offers. Delegated accounts do not contribute towards the license fees for cPanel, which would add a significant amount of value to the shared web hosting packages. The owners of an account have the ability to establish sub-accounts with varying team sizes, including small teams with three members, normal teams with five members, and big teams with seven members, and sell these sub-accounts at varying pricing points. Additionally, this capability will expose new users to the cPanel platform when they join as team members, which has the potential to create future demand for the individuals’ individual cPanel accounts.

In terms of cPanel’s level of security, account owners have the ability to demand Two-factor Authentication for all users with Manage Team, and the root administrator and/or reseller have the ability to restrict the amount of sub-user accounts that a cPanel account may have. Both of these features are available with Manage Team.

Users must pick the Manage Team feature from the menu in WHM's Feature Manager interface (WHM » Home » Packages » Feature Manager) in order to activate the Manage Team interface for a cPanel account. This may be done by navigating to WHM's ‘Feature Manager’ interface.

With the release of Manage Team, owners of cPanel accounts would now have full control over their accounts, allowing them the ability to securely and simply delegate access to members of their team as well as third-party service providers without compromising security.

cPanel claims to have reached an important new milestone with the introduction of the Manage Team functionality, which was developed in direct response to demands made by users. The platform now provides the option to establish user accounts, which would make it possible for teams to work together efficiently and eliminates any security risks that may have been caused by exchanging passwords.

As a leading web hosting administration solution, cPanel runs on the Linux operating system. The control panel supports big hosting organizations by providing a broad variety of capabilities in addition to its WHM (Web Host Manager) interface. The cPanel platform offers all-inclusive capabilities that would allow hosting providers, website owners, system administrators, small and medium-sized businesses, and digital agencies to exert complete authority over the hosting environment in which they operate.
