DataBank, a major supplier of edge colocation, managed services, and interconnectivity has purchased 95 acres of land close to Lithia Springs in the Atlanta market. This acquisition would significantly increase DataBank’s capacity. It would enable the data center developer/operator to meet the region’s increasing demand for colocation space and power over the coming ten years.
The recently purchased 95 acres are located less than half a mile from the existing 18 acres that DataBank already owns in the area and is using to build its ATL4 plant. Two multi-story data centers with a combined gross square foot capacity of up to one million may be built on this new land.
The new data center location will include a 180 MW Georgia Power onsite sub-station, which, when fully operational, can provide up to 120 MW of vital IT power. DataBank would be able to continue meeting the rapidly expanding colocation demands of businesses and hyperscale public cloud providers that have already made a significant local footprint thanks to this extended presence, which is located only 20 minutes outside of Atlanta.
Artificial Intelligence Applications

The recently announced Universal Data Hall Design (UDHD) by DataBank will be utilized by the new campus and the facilities that are eventually built upon it. This would ensure that colocation capacity can be quickly deployed to meet the diverse sustainability and performance requirements of all customers, including enterprises, hyperscale cloud providers, and emerging AI applications that require the highest power and cooling density.
The edge colocation and infrastructure footprint of DataBank includes 20 interconnectivity hubs, over 65 “HPC-ready” data centers spread across more than 27 regions, as well as on-ramps to an almost infinite network of cloud providers.
