Informatica, a global provider of enterprise cloud data management services, has announced the launch of its Intelligent Data Management Cloud (IDMC) in the Middle East. According to Informatica, it marks the first-ever region-wide launch of an intelligent data management cloud.
The company has made a significant investment in establishing a new Point of Delivery (PoD) in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, further cementing its presence in the region and demonstrating its commitment to supporting local scalable cloud-first data management services.
The launch of IDMC would reflect Informatica’s dedication to expanding regional data management services and supporting local businesses and governments in the UAE. The investment would align with the UAE government’s vision for a data-driven state, as it works to transform Abu Dhabi into a hub for digital innovation and economic growth.
Jitesh Ghai, Chief Product Officer at Informatica, said, “With the launch of our first IDMC PoD in the Middle East, Informatica and its regional partners will enable customers to unlock the value of their data while ensuring that it remains secure, well-governed, and in the region if necessary.”
Powered by AI

IDMC is a comprehensive cloud-native data management platform that would enable enterprises to visualize, analyze, and collaborate with their data regardless of its location or platform. Powered by Claire, the company’s AI platform, IDMC would help organizations accelerate innovation and increase productivity at scale. With the launch of the UAE PoD, customers can enjoy the full breadth of services, including Informatica’s Cloud Data Marketplace, which is designed to increase data sharing, improve productivity, and enable organizations to make more informed decisions.
Last October, during GITEX Global, Informatica signed a multi-year, strategic framework agreement with Abu Dhabi Digital Authority (ADDA) to support its Data Enablement Program, which aims to offer data management services to government entities in Abu Dhabi. With the regional PoD, Informatica can better support local partners and organizations with its cloud data management platform in compliance with local regulations.
Informatica’s IDMC investment comes at a time when the UAE’s digital economy is growing at an unprecedented pace. According to a recent study, the UAE’s digital economy is expected to grow to $23.1 billion by 2024, with Abu Dhabi aiming to achieve a diversified economy by boosting the contribution of the non-oil sector to its GDP. The IDMC launch would be a crucial step towards achieving this goal and advancing the UAE’s digital transformation agenda.
