Latest Release of D2iQ Kubernetes Platform Now Available

Di2Q booth

D2iQ, a supplier of corporate Kubernetes for intelligent cloud-native applications, has launched the most recent version of its D2iQ Kubernetes Platform (DKP). DKP 2.4 would improve and unify the administration of fleets of Kubernetes clusters across hybrid, multi-cloud, and multi-cluster settings by adding new features, version upgrades, and extended infrastructure support across the top cloud service providers (CSPs).

DKP would offer rapid platform engineering right out of the box and is a feature-complete, fully automated Kubernetes platform, giving businesses the ability to manage applications more simply throughout their lifecycles. A production-ready internal development environment (IDE) that offers a ‘golden route’ to centralized fleet management of Kubernetes clusters across all environments is provided to DevOps teams by DKP, which can be deployed in a matter of minutes.

With the new features in DKP 2.4, D2iQ anticipates the security to be improved, deployment options to be expanded, the user interface to be enhanced, and the capacity to manage many clusters and clouds to be strengthened. The following new features would add to these capabilities:

  • Ability to upgrade DKP clusters on the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) - The newest feature and security upgrades are available to users thanks to DKP 2.4’s full lifecycle management (provision, update, delete) of DKP clusters on GCP. By doing this, the top three cloud service providers’ DKP cluster administration skills would be increased (Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, and GCP).
  • Cluster provisioning for Microsoft Azure in the DKP user interface - With only a few clicks, this productivity-enhancing technology would provide rapid and simple cluster setup on the Azure cloud.
  • Ultra-secure Nvidia GPU deployment - DKP 2.4 would offer military-grade security by allowing GPU nodes for computationally intensive AI applications to be run on-premise and in air-gapped settings.
  • Fleet management with a single click - With just one click and DKP Enterprise, users can deploy and manage applications across all clusters that make up a workspace. Additionally, DKP 2.4 offers override settings for each cluster via the web browser interface, providing fleet management consistency and flexibility.

Deeper Insights

Tobi Knaup, CEO and co-founder of D2iQ “DKP Insights Engine is just one example of our ongoing innovation and focus on simplifying Kubernetes management to help customers succeed in their cloud-native journeys,” said Tobi Knaup, CEO and co-founder of D2iQ.

Additionally, DKP 2.4 has an improved Insights Engine that offers self-service troubleshooting capabilities and is now in Technology Preview. DKP may now automatically deliver alarms when deprecated API versions and missing best practices are found in cluster settings. The Insights Engine searches deployed Kubernetes clusters for security flaws and vulnerabilities in installed container images, looks for updated Helm chart versions, and informs users via configuration insight notifications.

“At D2iQ, our goal is to consistently improve the customer's experience running enterprise-scale Kubernetes on premises, in a public cloud, or in a hybrid environment,” said Tobi Knaup, CEO and co-founder of D2iQ. “DKP Insights Engine is just one example of our ongoing innovation and focus on simplifying Kubernetes management to help customers succeed in their cloud-native journeys.”

Additional DKP 2.4 features include the following:

Kubernetes 1.24 and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 8.6 support - Customers can stay up to date with the newest features and security fixes thanks to DKP 2.4, which is based entirely on upstream open-source Kubernetes and supports the most recent RHEL and Kubernetes releases.

Rook Ceph self-managing, self-scaling, self-healing storage services - The inclusion of Rook Ceph is part of the continual integration of new features and services into DKP that benefit customers and improve the performance and security of Kubernetes installations. It is included by default in the DKP 2.4 platform applications.

Enhanced Konvoy Image Builder (KIB) Documentation - Complete KIB, a D2iQ-developed open-source tool for creating virtual machine images, is included in DKP 2.4. With the help of this documentation, businesses may create unique, secure Cluster API-complant images for use across all Kubernetes deployments and infrastructures.
