
Global web hosting provider Liquid Web is expanding its managed Wordpress hosting portfolio by acquiring IconicWP. Financial terms of this acquisition were not disclosed.
“We’re excited about our ability to attract these smart, passionate and entrepreneurial innovators in the WordPress and WooCommerce arena,” said Joe Osterling, CTO of Liquid Web.
IconixWP will join Liquid Web’s software portfolio, StellarWP. The StellarWP brand is an umbrella brand for all of Liquid Web’s WordPress software and tools, including iThemes, The Events Calendar, KadenceWP, Restrict Content Pro, GiveWP, and now also IconicWP.

James Kemp, the founder of IconicWP, and his team will be joining StellarWP throughout the transition. Their experience would help ensure that the IconicWP brand thrives and grows in line with StellarWP’s strategic goals.Existing IconicWP customers would continue to receive the same quality of service and products, says Liquid Web. They also promise that the switch to StellarWP will have no effect on users’ ability to use the plugins they rely on.
Combined, StellarWP is home to over 100,000 software subscribers and more than 2 million free version software users.
