maincubes Unveils FRA04, Expanding Its Data Center Presence in Frankfurt

maincubes, a prominent European data center operator from Germany known for its colocation solutions catering to diverse sectors including cloud service providers, the public sector, global enterprises, and hyperscalers, has announced the launch of its newest and largest data center, maincubes FRA04, located in the strategic Rhine-Main Metropolitan Area, south of Frankfurt in Dietzenbach.

“In Frankfurt, hyperscalers and a growing number of AI companies compete intensively for the limited available capacities in the data center market,” said Patrick Schütz, CRO at maincubes.Offering around 12,500 square meters of whitespace and a powerful 40 MW of IT capability, the FRA04 facility is expected to greatly increase maincubes’ capacity. maincubes’ biggest colocation data center build to date, the property was purchased with a committed power supply of 60 MW. With high-performance computing and AI applications becoming more popular among hyperscalers, this development is positioned strategically to satisfy those needs.

Slated to be operational by 2027, maincubes FRA04 is just the beginning of a series of hyperscale data center developments planned in maincubes’ growth trajectory.

Oliver Menzel, CEO of maincubes, highlighted the company’s distinct competitive edge, saying, “As a European entity, we pride ourselves on our independence and our ability to deliver superior data protection and data sovereignty solutions.” He further emphasized the company's commitment to efficiency and sustainability, crucial factors for entities in the hyperscaler and artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure sectors. “With our adherence to the Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS) and the implementation of the ESG framework according to GRESB standards, maincubes is not only aligned with current customer needs but is also proactively prepared for upcoming EU regulatory demands for data center operators.”

High-Security Standards

maincubes operates in key European regions, including Frankfurt, Berlin, and Amsterdam. The company’s colocation data centers are renowned for their high-security standards, certified sustainability, adherence to current quality standards, and the flexibility to meet individual customer needs. With advanced technology ensuring continuous IT infrastructure availability, maincubes aims to solidify its position as a reliable and innovative data center provider in the European market.

Adding to Oliver Menzel’s insights, Patrick Schütz, Chief Revenue Officer of maincubes, pointed out the acute need for substantial data center capacities driven by AI and ongoing digitalization in the global economy. “Frankfurt and the Rhine-Main region, with their central European location, robust infrastructure, established internet exchange points, and strong data protection policies, are becoming hotspots for hyperscalers and AI firms competing for limited data center capacities.”

Clients of maincubes include multinational cloud service providers that value high-performance, fail-safe, and sustainable digital infrastructure, as well as national and international blue-chip enterprises. Founded in 2012, maincubes is headquartered in Frankfurt am Main.
