Silicon Valley’s 100MW STACK Data Center Expansion Unveiled

Global data center developer and operator STACK Infrastructure has announced the opening of its expanded 100MW, SVY01 facility in Silicon Valley, in San Jose. One of the biggest and most sought-after data center marketplaces in the world will receive critical capacity and scale from this 60MW data center expansion.

With the addition of two data centers, an advanced manufacturing plant, and a parking building, the campus now spans 19 acres and has a capacity of 100MW. The Silicon Valley facility accommodates multiple cooling options to address the increasing need for high-density workloads and cloud infrastructure deployments.

According to Matt VanderZanden, Chief Operating Officer of STACK Americas, “This expansion stands as an example of STACK’s dedication to building lasting local partnerships and stimulating overall community growth. Our goal of contributing to a broad-based, sustainable economic future is paramount, and we must deliver responsibly scaled services to our clients while positively impacting the region.”

To create new power infrastructure in the Silicon Valley region and support a more reliable, secure, and scalable grid for both public and private usage, STACK is also actively working with PG&E.

Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) is a utility company based in San Francisco, California. It provides natural gas and electricity to most of the northern two-thirds of California, serving approximately 16 million people over a 70,000-square-mile service area.

“In a time when technology permeates every aspect of our lives, the demand for data storage is rising quickly. The decision of STACK to extend its operations in North San Jose excites me much,” said David Cohen, Councilmember for San Jose District 4. “I am especially excited about STACK’s commitment to environmental responsibility in the building of this site, and I thank STACK for their excellent collaboration. Their emphasis on ecologically friendly methods is admirable and sets a good example for others to follow. These principles are very similar to those of San Jose.”
