To expand its line of edge computing solutions, StackPath, a worldwide platform for edge computing, has introduced their SP// Edge Compute Dedicated Hosts offering. Clients may utilize this “cutting-edge” service to install SP// Edge Containers or VMs (Virtual Machines) on a physical server that is just theirs. This dedicated hosting would ensure optimal and consistent performance, crucial for businesses relying on edge computing.
The dedicated hosts capability is controlled by SP// EdgeEngine, StackPath’s exclusive orchestration system. Virtual machine and container instances may be configured and managed in a flexible manner thanks to this architecture. By using a single administration site and API, it would guarantee that users of the StackPath platform have access to the same degree of flexibility, observability, and control.
In highlighting the advantages of this new product, StackPath Chief Product Officer Tom Reyes said, "Organizations choose StackPath because of the edge computing performance advantages we provide over traditional public cloud. Dedicated hosts provide unmatched reliability and very low latency on unshared capacity when they are situated in close proximity to end users. Reyes stressed that this innovation preserves the well-known level of use of StackPath’s platform while addressing important concerns like privacy, compliance, and sole-tenancy.”
Data Security, Cloud Performance
The purpose of the SP// Edge Compute Dedicated Hosts solution is to provide a physically distinct computing environment. Better data security and predictable cloud performance would be guaranteed by this separation, which can be essential for managing use surges, continuously high traffic, and optimal end-user experiences.
The StackPath edge compute instances would provide extra features including virtual private clouds, built-in L3-L4 DDoS protection, persistent storage, picture capture and deployment, private IP addresses, and more, and can be controlled via the SP// Customer Portal or via API.
Founded in 2015, StackPath is an edge computing firm offering a variety of services designed to improve Internet infrastructure. StackPath is Dallas, Texas-based. Lance Crosby, who previously co-founded SoftLayer Technologies, which IBM acquired in 2013, headed the founding team. The goal of the firm is to improve data processing speed and efficiency by bringing storage and processing capacity closer to the end user, hence lowering latency. The services offered by StackPath include web application firewalls, cloud services, and content delivery networks (CDNs), all of which are intended to increase the scalability, security, and performance of websites and applications.
