By purchasing a new data center in Fort Worth, Texas, TierPoint, provider of secured IT solutions for digital transformation, has increased its presence in the Dallas region. With this expansion, the business now has three locations in the area, solidifying its standing as a major supplier to the industry. The seller’s name and the purchase’s financial information were not disclosed.
Located at 13701 Independence Parkway, this data center has 208,000 square feet, of which 45,000 are devoted to data center operations. With plans for development, it can presently provide 5 MW of electricity.
With an immediate expansion capacity of 8 MW and a long-term target of 18 MW, the site is intended to be scalable. American International Group Inc. used to have a data center on the site.

TierPoint CEO and Chairman Jerry Kent emphasized how important these facilities are becoming. He made the point that the Fort Worth data center is not just a center for conventional colocation services but also one that is expected to play a significant role in the development of high-density colocation services. Advanced applications like artificial intelligence, which need high processing power and workloads that are GPU-accelerated, are becoming more and more dependent on these services, he added.
With the addition of this most recent facility, TierPoint's portfolio now consists of 40 data centers spread across more than 20 U.S. regions, all linked by a solid 100G network backbone that runs coast to coast. By providing cloud-ready data centers that are strategically positioned across multiple key regions, TierPoint has solidified its position as one of the biggest and most geographically diversified companies in the U.S. with this expansion.
This deliberate growth would demonstrate TierPoint’s dedication to satisfying the changing demands of companies operating in the digital era, especially those needing sophisticated and safe IT infrastructure.
