A worldwide provider of satellite networking technology, solutions, and services, Gilat Satellite Networks (Nasdaq: GILT, TASE: GILT) has disclosed that DataPath, one of its firms located in the United States, has been awarded an additional order for $5 million from the United States Department of Defense.
As a global supplier of satellite and wireless communications technologies, DataPath mainly serves the needs of the U.S. military and government. With a focus on reliable, high-performance, and secured communications, DataPath provides comprehensive solutions for challenging network issues. They provide cybersecurity solutions, network management tools, and satellite communication systems. DataPath’s technologies and services, which prioritize mission-critical applications, would provide uninterrupted communication in challenging and remote settings.
Transportable satellite communication hubs known as DKET 3421 terminals are the focus of this additional order. These terminals would provide the operational flexibility, capacity, connectivity, and control that are essential for ensuring success in any location on the planet.
The DKET 3421 is a cutting-edge solution that would effectively address the requirements of clients for a terminal that is of the highest quality and reliable for mission-critical communications.
Satellite Network
With a scalable modem design that can accommodate up to 32 modems, the DKET 3421 terminal, which has been proved in the field, is capable of supporting multi-carrier operations. It is possible to transport the DKET 3421 with ease using a forklift since it weighs less than 5000 pounds and has a smaller square footprint. A satellite network hub in the form of a single-skid that is able to exploit existing satellite assets is provided by the DKET 3421, which can be deployed in a timeframe of less than three hours, according to Gilat and DataPath.
“We are happy to have received another order for our ground-breaking DKET 3421 from our esteemed government and military client,” said Barry W. Botts, Vice President, Sales and Business Development for DataPath. “This new order highlights the trust and confidence placed in the company and our capability to deliver mission-critical solutions that meet our customer’s stringent requirements. This order further demonstrates our ability to meet our customers’ growing needs by offering reliable, portable, high-performance network hubs.”
Gilat offers innovative products for enterprise, government, and consumer markets. Their offerings include satellite terminals, ground segment equipment, and managed network services. Gilat’s satellite-based broadband communications solutions enable connectivity for voice, data, and video applications, serving customers in over 90 countries.
DataPath, a pioneer in the trusted communications market for the US DoD Military and Government sectors, was acquired by Gilat in November of last year.
Regarding this acquisition, Gilat’s CEO Adi Sfadia said the following: “DataPath is the cornerstone we have been searching for to quickly implement Gilat’s plan, with over 25 years of expertise servicing the US DoD and government sectors, as well as international government and military industries. We are expanding on the new, strong synergies made possible by the acquisition, with annual revenues in the defense sector expected to rise by about $50 million. Gilat’s global reach will offer DataPath new markets for its cutting-edge solutions, and DataPath's esteemed presence in the US will open up new markets for Gilat’s cutting-edge communication technologies.”
