Customers may execute a secure and thorough edge and cloud strategy with Nuvla.io, SixSq’s edge-to-cloud B2B management platform and marketplace, without being locked in. The feature-rich suite of web cache and HTTP accelerator solutions from Varnish Software, a supplier of caching, streaming, and content delivery software solutions, have now been integrated and made available in Nuvla.io through a partnership with SixSq.

This integration would make it easier to purchase, implement, and administer Varnish Software’s technology, giving SixSq clients and their users at the edge new features and high performance. SixSq is part of the Ekinops Group, a global network equipment and solutions provider.

Telecom operators and CSPs in any area can now seamlessly offer “fast, high-quality online and streaming experiences” while reducing costs and hardware requirements across an entire ecosystem of distributed edges by leveraging the Nuvla Marketplace to deploy Varnish Software.

“Service providers require consistent and reliable speed and performance to deliver excellent web experiences for users, at scale,” said Irene Lundin, Chief Delivery Officer at Varnish Software. “Nuvla speeds up the way we can deliver Varnish Software by simplifying the deployment and maintenance process. We are now better equipped to deliver next-gen connectivity wherever it is needed, anywhere in the world.”

Edge Computing Using Varnish Software Caching

Irene Lundin, Chief Delivery Officer at Varnish Software “Nuvla speeds up the way we can deliver Varnish Software by simplifying the deployment and maintenance process,” said Irene Lundin, Chief Delivery Officer at Varnish Software.

The new integration is a part of a larger partnership between the two businesses that aims to connect 5G satellite communications with advanced web caching and content delivery at the edge. This collaboration also includes contributions to the 5G-EMERGE consortium of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU).

“Our partnership with Varnish Software perfectly demonstrates the value of app delivery using the Nuvla Marketplace,” said Marc-Elian Bégin, CEO and Co-founder of SixSq. “Customers from any business sector can now deploy Varnish Software’s caching app at the telco edge, near edge as well as far edge, with a direct and measurable positive impact on the digital experience of users.”

According to Varnish Enterprise, their software is the only one that can offer an edge runtime environment, allowing operators to create and execute compute logic as quickly as feasible and near to the end user. Any server that accepts HTTP/HTTPS queries can have it deployed in front of it “to increase response times by 300-1000% and decrease backend server load by up to 99%.”

The Nuvla digital platform from SixSq is a B2B tool for managing devices and industrializing containerized edge applications. The Nuvla app vendor program would provide app sellers and clients with tools for smooth interaction, such as transparent pricing and contractual conditions. For telcos, service providers, and systems integrators, it would also offer hassle-free monetization of business applications.

Companies can now deploy, maintain, and upgrade an enterprise-grade caching solution to offer “a high-quality digital experience, remotely and securely,” thanks to Varnish Enterprise’s availability on the Nuvla Marketplace. The buying and distribution procedure would be “quick, easy, and reliable.” Using the Nuvla dashboard, the app may be widely deployed in only a few clicks. Pay-as-you-go subscriptions are required to access the service.

The Varnish web accelerator and caching HTTP reverse proxy software is typically installed on a server to speed up web applications by caching the contents of web pages and other resources in memory, reducing the time and resources required to serve requests from the backend web server.

Varnish can also be used to load balance traffic across multiple backend servers, and to handle SSL/TLS encryption and decryption. The software is written in C and is open-source under a two-clause BSD license. Varnish is widely used in high-traffic websites to improve the performance and scalability of web applications.

Varnish Software has its offices located in Los Angeles, New York City, London, Tokyo, Singapore, Stockholm, Oslo, Düsseldorf and Paris.
