In response to the growing importance of data sovereignty and the volume of enterprise data being generated, stored, and processed in ever-increasing locations - from the public cloud to edge networks and IoT devices, to generative AI - Vultr, a sizable privately held cloud computing platform created by parent company Constant, has launched its Vultr Sovereign Cloud and Private Cloud.
The news follows the release of Vultr Cloud Inference, which makes use of Vultr’s cloud-native architecture spread across 32 cloud data center locations and six continents to enable worldwide AI model deployment and inference capabilities. Governments and businesses all over the world can use Vultr to make sure that local data sovereignty, data residency, and privacy laws apply to all AI training data.
According to Accenture, data sovereignty is ranked as the top concern by 50% of European CXOs when choosing cloud vendors, and over a third of them want to shift 25-75% of their data, workloads, or assets to a sovereign cloud.
The purpose of Vultr Sovereign Cloud and Private Cloud is to enable governments, research centers, and businesses to utilize cloud-native infrastructure while guaranteeing that critical information, technology, and operations stay inside national borders and adhere to local laws. Data Centers Globally

In addition, Vultr provides technological independence through its physical infrastructure, which includes air-gapped deployments and a separate control plane fully controlled by the customer and unconnected to the central control plane that manages resources throughout Vultr’s worldwide data centers. This would offer total data and processing power isolation from worldwide cloud resources.
Vultr Sovereign Cloud and Private Cloud are solely administered by citizens of the host nation, providing an audit trail that satisfies the highest requirements of operational integrity and national security. This would further ensure local governance and administration of these resources.
Businesses can scale AI models according to their own terms with Vultr’s ‘train anywhere, scale everywhere’ infrastructure, which includes the Vultr Container Registry, which would allow models to be shared across multiple geographies while being trained in one place.
