Multi-cloud managed service provider Wanclouds has increased the availability of its Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS) solution across all Virtual Machines (VMs). Wanclouds now provides complete backup and recovery services for Linux and Windows-based virtual servers as well as user data.
This was made possible by going beyond the resources offered by Kubernetes and Virtual Private Clouds (VPCs). Wanclouds now offers full multi-cloud backup and restoration solutions that span both regions and clouds, thanks to its newly added capabilities.
Within KVM, VMware vSphere, and Microsoft Hyper-V systems, the Wanclouds DRaaS agent is able to deliver live snapshot backups without causing any disruption to the production environment. There is no need for developers to put environments into rescue mode or halt services since the agent will take a hard snapshot automatically. A full backup would take much more time to complete than a snapshot, which stores a replica of the virtual machine at a particular moment in time. In addition to this, the user has the ability to make a backup of the data without making a copy of the whole image of the VM, and then to restore the data whenever they need it across regions. Every backup is taken in a secured manner, and it is kept in an object store that is specific to the client in an encrypted format.
“Regulations such as GDPR, PCI, and HIPAA are making it increasingly important for organizations to back up data that is vulnerable to cyber threats, hardware failures, or human error,” said Faiz Khan, CEO of Wanclouds. “The importance of backing up data that is vulnerable to cyber threats, hardware failures, or human error is increasing as a result of these regulations. Unfortunately, small and midsize businesses that want to remain compliant have traditionally been neglected by outdated disaster recovery methods that are prohibitively expensive and resource-intensive. Wancloud’s disaster recovery as a service provides any enterprise a choice for protecting mission-critical data, ensuring business continuity, and providing immediate scalability across hybrid clouds that is both easy and effective.”
Automation Suite VPC+

Wanclouds’ Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS) is made possible by the SaaS-based automation suite VPC+ that the company offers. This suite offers a centralized cross-cloud solution that manages and protects hybrid cloud systems via the use of a single pane of glass. Customers of Wanclouds are able to use VPC+ for disaster recovery to back up all of their virtual machines (VMs) and Kubernetes resources. They have the ability to restore it across a variety of geographies, on physical servers, and in clouds such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and IBM Cloud.
DRaaS is an innovative take on the more conventional disaster recovery techniques, and it removes the obstacles that stand in the way of companies on the lookout for disaster recovery strategies that are compliant, inexpensive, and dependable. Wanclouds provides on-demand backups for the servers or clusters that organizations need and rapidly recovers them when they are required. This is accomplished via the provision of disaster recovery ‘as a service.’ Companies may pay a fraction of the monthly cost to secure their existing servers and clusters for a far lower outlay of capital than would be required to create and maintain disaster recovery infrastructure. This would save the company millions of dollars in startup costs.
The Multi-Cloud Disaster Recovery as a Service offered by Wanclouds includes the following functionalities specifically:
- Sign up, and then generate backups with only a few clicks of the mouse
- Snapshots of the whole infrastructure that can be brought back to life on demand, including Virtual Private Cloud configurations and designs, Kubernetes, data, and virtual machines
- The ability to plan backups on any timetable, regardless of availability
- Restore on-demand across clouds and regions from backed-ups
- Backups are kept within the customer cloud-object store and are completely secured
- Visualize infrastructure design and monitor consumption
- On-demand views of disaster recovery costs with comprehensive consumption reports
- Backups are stored within the customer cloud-object store and are fully encrypted
