Westcon-Comstor, a global tech distributor in over 70 countries, is connecting IT vendors with resellers while offering expertise and market insight. To bolster its cloud capabilities and channel-focused services offering, Westcon-Comstor has acquired Rebura, an advanced service partner and solution provider of AWS (Amazon Web Services). Financial terms of this acquisition were not disclosed.

Through the agreement, Westcon-Comstor channel partners will be able to offer their clients an extensive range of AWS products, including security-aligned professional services, cloud consulting, migration services, FinOps, and expertise in the AWS Marketplace.

Combining Westcon-Comstor’s cybersecurity knowledge and experience with Rebura’s certification as an AWS migration services competence partner would result in a powerful cloud solution for channel partners.

Rebura, a London-based company that was founded in 2017, specializes in providing support for SaaS and DevOps skills across the UK, Nordic region, and central Europe, as well as AWS cloud migrations and modernizations. AWS and Rebura announced a strategic partnership deal in 2023, showcasing AWS’s value proposition for Rebura. Rebura now has seven AWS capabilities, including DevOps, Microsoft Workloads, and migration.

As a certified and fully authorized AWS advanced service partner and solution provider, Rebura helps businesses of all sizes develop and optimize their workloads and applications on AWS, boosting security, scalability, productivity, and cost effectiveness.

“Migrating workloads to the cloud and maintaining security resilience are two of the biggest challenges faced by end-user businesses,” said David Grant, CEO at Westcon-Comstor. “This represents a significant opportunity for the channel, but many of our partners do not have the AWS migration and security skills needed to support their customers on this journey. Thanks to this exciting acquisition, our partners will now be able to access these capabilities through Rebura as part of a seamless and unique proposition.”

AWS Security Competency APAC

After the acquisition, Westcon-Comstor - which just made history by being the first distributor in Asia Pacific (APAC) to obtain AWS Security Competency status and is an authorized distributor of AWS products and solutions in the area - will gradually begin to offer Rebura consulting services through its current business lines, Westcon and Comstor.

With the support of Westcon-Comstor’s vast global network of technology resellers, systems integrators, and service providers, Rebura would continue to operate independently and serve as the cornerstone of the company’s AWS business, assisting more partners and end-user businesses in their cloud migration endeavors.

After two years of double-digit revenue gains and a period of consistent organic growth, the acquisition would mark a new pillar in Westcon-Comstor’s development strategy, which will now center on “targeted, strategic acquisitions.”

“Over the past seven years we have built Rebura into one of the fastest-growing AWS consulting and service partners, and today marks an exciting new chapter in our history,” said Aaron Rees, Founder and CEO at Rebura. “Westcon-Comstor’s global reach and incredibly strong channel connections will give us a much bigger platform from which to grow as we bring our deep expertise across AWS products and services to a wider audience.”
