With its headquarters in Taiwan, Inventec (TPE: 2356), a worldwide supplier of high-performance servers, has announced the debut of its P8000IG6 server. This server is designed to fast and flexibly scale up data center capacity in order to handle the most sophisticated artificial intelligence (AI) and high-performance computing (HPC) applications.
George Lin, VP of Business Unit VI at Inventec Enterprise Business Group (Inventec EBG), said that “Data centers are increasingly faced with the need to rapidly scale up capacity - and Inventec’s P8000IG6 server is the answer.”Demand for data centers is rapidly increasing as a result of the proliferation of new artificial intelligence technologies. An increasing number of data centers are turning to prefabricated and modular solutions to expand while simultaneously minimizing the amount of time required for setup, as stated by McKinsey. This is because data center operators are trapped between the demand for increased capacity and rising capital expenses.
With the option to choose between NVIDIA H100, H200, or B100 GPUs, the P8000IG6 server is designed on the NVIDIA HGX AI supercomputing platform and powered by up to eight GPUs. It is tailored for the most sophisticated AI and HPC workloads. While Inventec's switchboard connects the server's GPUs to other GPUs in the data center and provides the greatest capacity for GPU Direct RDMA, NVIDIA NVLink and NVSwitch would speed up communication across all eight onboard GPUs to guarantee smooth interconnection.
The motherboard is powered by Intel Xeon Scalable Processors (Eagle Stream), which come in 4th and 5th generation variants and are installed in a tray apart from the GPUs.
George Lin, Vice President of Business Unit VI at Inventec Enterprise Business Group (Inventec EBG), said that “Data centers are increasingly faced with the need to rapidly scale up capacity - and Inventec’s P8000IG6 server is the answer. Not only does our modular design deliver rapid deployment and maximal flexibility, but its leading-edge technology enables our customers to run the most advanced applications.”
Both Liquid and Air Cooling
The modular architecture of Inventec’s P8000IG6 server would allow for quick deployment, easy extension and infrastructure upgrade, and broad interoperability with other server types. When data centers need specific solutions, the professionals at Inventec can also provide white-glove customization.
Inventec’s P8000IG6 server features PCIe Gen. 5.0 connectivity and the newest DDR5 SDRAM, expanding its range of cutting-edge technology. Its CPU and GPU modules include separated power supplies (12V and 54V, respectively) to increase power economy and reliability. Its customization is further enhanced by the availability of both liquid and air cooling solutions.
Not only can the P8000IG6 server be expanded and deployed quickly, but its modular architecture would also make server maintenance easier. Its tool-less design would allow for easy repair and maintenance. The CPU and GPU are divided into separate trays, and it has multiple modules for the fans, power supply, and network interface controller.
