Kasada Debuts Bot Detection API for CDN Edge Computing Platforms

A bot detection API with out-of-the-box interfaces for Content Delivery Network (CDN) edge computing platforms has been launched by Kasada, pioneers in transcending bot management by challenging the human brains behind automated risks. The new integrations would allow security teams to swiftly stop online fraud and abuse without compromising user experience or data protection.

“We integrated Kasada via their new bot detection API in a matter of hours and it was immediately effective, eliminating bots that were attacking our AI models,” said Malte Ubl, Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Vercel. “Removing these bots greatly reduced our infrastructure costs for these AI models that we make available without login and payment.”“We integrated Kasada via their new bot detection API in a matter of hours and it was immediately effective, eliminating bots that were attacking our AI models,” said Malte Ubl, Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Vercel. “Removing these bots greatly reduced our infrastructure costs for these AI models that we make available without login and payment.”Dangerous actors have created powerful instruments and monetized services to perform automated attacks, stated Kasada. The efficacy of many anti-bot services tends to decline when enemies figure out how to get around their protections, the company added.

The dynamic bot protection technology of Kasada would now seamlessly and rapidly interface with any CDN provider, including Amazon CloudFront, Cloudflare, Fastly, Akamai, and Vercel, thanks to its new CDN edge API connections. Users may also create unique API connections with application backends as an alternative. Users would gain from Kasada’s instant and ongoing security without requiring any management.

“With their preferred CDN, businesses can now quickly, easily, and securely benefit from Kasada’s new integrations,” said Sam Crowther, Kasada’s founder and CEO. “For long-lasting security, businesses want a bot defense platform that can react as fast as the opponent. Customers have stopped abuse and fraud using Kasada, saving upwards of tens of millions of dollars. Additionally, its users get a hassle-free experience without annoying CAPTCHAs.”

AI/ML-based Anomaly Server-Side Detection

Kasada provides a variety of integration choices that may be tailored to fit the specific requirements of enterprises, industries, and partners, taking into account the architecture and requirements of each of these entities. These are some of the new API integration features:

  • Pre-built code for CDN / edge compute API integrations - Out-of-the-box API plugins for Amazon CloudFront (Lambda@Edge), Cloudflare (Workers), Akamai (EdgeWorkers), Fastly (Compute), and Vercel (Next.js)
  • Custom integrations - Directly integrate with application backends, authentication and e-commerce platforms, and other systems that are not part of the content delivery network
  • Fast integration - Within a matter of hours, using “fast start guidelines that are simple to understand”
  • Data privacy - The platform that Kasada uses, which is compliant with both PCI and SOC 2, would not ever come into contact with sensitive data such as passwords, payment details, or personally identifying information
  • Customized responses – Users of Kasada’s bot detection API may either completely block requests or silently prohibit the bot that is causing the problem behind the scenes, so concealing critical information that attackers can use to retool

Kasada’s dynamic defense platform uses its bot detection API to determine whether a request is coming from a bot or a human. This is accomplished through a tightly integrated combination of robust client-side defenses, AI/ML-based anomaly server-side detection, invisible challenges, and data integrity checks. This process helps to prevent data tampering and replay attacks.
